How it works
Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, posts hours for knoebels on a calendar, date by date. Summer can run most days. Fall does not. Once the last daily week ends, the park often keeps Saturday and Sunday and drops ordinary Tuesdays. Knoebels hours in September after Labor Day are a weekend question until the calendar says otherwise. Hours for knoebels in October are often the Hallo-Fun listing, not the July noon-to-night span. How it works with a job is that a weekday in fall is frequently a closed park. If you work Monday through Friday, the visit is a Saturday, a Sunday, or a rare weekday the calendar still lights. A midday open is not a dawn gate. You can sleep, drive, and still arrive at the first useful hour. You cannot treat an early work-holiday morning as if the coasters were already spinning.
Admission to the grounds is free. Rides are not. A Ride All Day pass and a ticket book follow the ride board for that date. Food stands, the pool, and golf are other boards. Crystal Pool is a summer water clock; do not expect it to define October. If the calendar says Park Closed, the free gate does not become a loophole.
Weekdays go dark
Labor Day is often the hinge, not a second summer. After it, a person who only has Tuesday off will stare at a closed midway unless that Tuesday is a printed exception. Do not spend a vacation day on a dark calendar square. If your job offers a weekday off in October, check the date first, then request the day. The park will not staff a Tuesday because your PTO landed on it.
Use the fall week as it is actually staffed: Open knoebels.com/calendar for the specific Saturday or Sunday. If you need a weekday, look for a printed open, not a habit from July. Treat the printed open as the ride open, not as a suggestion.
Leave before the printed close plus the walk to the car; country roads are part of the night. Evening closes in fall can be earlier than a summer Saturday. The printed end is a real end. A work-night idea of “we’ll just drive out after dinner” fails when dinner is the close. If you leave a job at the end of a desk day in another county, the drive is part of the hours. Fall hours include the road.
Hallo-Fun is a different clock
October weekends are a themed event, not leftover summer. Knoebels’ 2026 Hallo-Fun event page lists Friday 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. Confirm the calendar; event pages can move. Morning crafts for children can sit before the ride open on weekend mornings. Those craft hours are not ride hours. Do not arrive mid-morning on a Friday in October expecting a full midway if that Friday is posted as an evening start.
Friday Hallo-Fun is the after-work version of the park: an evening, not a day. It fits a job that can release you in time for a 6 p.m. open plus the drive. It does not fit a toddler’s ordinary bedtime if you stay until 10 p.m. Saturday is the long themed afternoon. Sunday is the earlier close. If you work weekends in another industry, these are the days the park is alive and you may not be. Swap time, or pick a September weekend the calendar still lists before the Halloween board.
July will not answer an October Tuesday. The calendar already told you the weekday is dark. Believe the square, not the summer brochure in your glove box. Weather and early ride stops still apply. A posted 10 p.m. Saturday is the envelope, not a promise that every coaster runs until the last minute. Guest services will not extend fall hours because you used a vacation day. Check the date, then go while the square is green.
