Current time in Sharqia, Egypt

Sharqia observes the official time used throughout Egypt. Zagazig, Tenth of Ramadan City, Bilbeis, Minya al-Qamh, and Abu Kabir share one civil clock, with small local differences in sunrise and sunset.

This Nile Delta governorate extends across a mixture of old agricultural settlements and newer urban and industrial areas. None has a separate time zone. A trip from Cairo or another Delta governorate into Sharqia therefore requires no adjustment to the official local time.

Egypt may apply a seasonal change to its civil clock. Consequently, the correct UTC relationship should be checked for the particular date instead of treated as permanent. This is most relevant for calls, broadcasts, and online meetings involving countries whose clock policies differ from Egypt’s.

Sharqia’s cities can disagree about the quickest road, but their clocks have settled the matter.

Urban centers and morning light

Zagazig is Sharqia’s capital and a major city of the eastern Nile Delta. Other large or prominent urban centers include Tenth of Ramadan City, Bilbeis, Minya al-Qamh, and Abu Kabir. Their locations make them useful reference points for different parts of the governorate.

Zagazig is the administrative center near the heart of the governorate. Tenth of Ramadan City is a planned industrial city toward the desert margin. Bilbeis lies in the southern part of Sharqia. Minya al-Qamh is southwest of Zagazig.

Abu Kabir is a notable city north of the capital. Every place in the list uses the same official time. Sunrise is generally reached slightly earlier in locations farther east, assuming a similar latitude and an unobstructed horizon. The differences within the governorate are small, but using the nearest city produces the most relevant result.

Day length changes over the seasons. Summer mornings begin earlier and summer evenings retain light longer than winter ones. The precise appearance of the sun can also be affected by buildings, trees, haze, and low cloud. A published sunrise is an astronomical calculation rather than a forecast of visible conditions.

In built-up areas, the sun may not be seen until it rises above nearby structures. In open agricultural country, the visible horizon can be lower, although vegetation or mist may still affect the view. Dawn starts before sunrise in both settings.

Choosing the right time reference

For a scheduled event, use Sharqia’s civil time without adjusting for the city. For daylight-dependent work, select the closest locality and consult its solar information. These are related but separate tasks: the regional clock is uniform, whereas the sun responds to position and season.

Use Zagazig as a central governorate reference. Choose Tenth of Ramadan City or Bilbeis for nearby southeastern areas. Look at twilight as well as sunrise for early outdoor plans. Recheck international conversions on the event date.

Devices using automatic time settings should display Egyptian time, but manually configured devices deserve attention after travel or a seasonal clock transition. Confirm the displayed zone before relying on an alarm or calendar invitation.
