Sunrise in The Valley changes gradually over the year. Because Anguilla lies in the Caribbean tropics, seasonal variation in daylight is less extreme than it is at high northern or southern latitudes. Even so, the precise times of dawn, sunrise, sunset, and dusk are not identical from one date to another.

A sunrise time refers to the moment the Sun’s upper edge appears at an unobstructed horizon under standard assumptions. Hills, buildings, vegetation, clouds, and the observer’s elevation can change when sunlight is actually visible. A beach with an open eastern view may receive a clearer first glimpse than a sheltered inland location.
