Current time in The Valley
Anguilla uses Atlantic Standard Time, UTC-4, all year round. The Valley, the capital, keeps that offset, and there is no daylight saving anywhere on the island.
A single island, a single hour
Anguilla is a British Overseas Territory in the eastern Caribbean, a low, narrow island at the northern end of the Leeward Islands. It is small enough that one time zone is not so much a decision as a description, and it holds UTC-4 without seasonal adjustment.
Most of the eastern Caribbean does the same. Neighbouring islands — Saint Martin and Sint Maarten just to the south, along with much of the surrounding chain — sit on the same offset, so island-hopping in this part of the Caribbean rarely troubles your watch. The clock changes are on the mainland, not out here.
An island this flat and this small has no room for a second time zone, and no appetite for one either.
Where Anguilla sits relative to North America
In the northern winter, Anguilla is an hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time on the United States east coast. In the northern summer, when the east coast advances to daylight time and Anguilla does not, the two match exactly.
So the same island is sometimes an hour ahead of New York and sometimes level with it, without ever having touched its own clocks. If your calendar to Anguilla drifts, the mainland moved.
Districts and settlements
Anguilla is divided into districts, and the whole territory shares one clock. Some of the named places: The Valley — the capital, near the centre of the island Sandy Ground — on the north coast, a working harbour
Blowing Point — the ferry landing on the south side West End — the island's western tip Island Harbour — on the northeastern coast Sombrero — a small uninhabited island belonging to the territory, well to the northwest
Getting the timing right
A few things worth checking before you rely on a time here: Ferry and connecting-flight schedules are quoted in local time at each end — and neighbouring islands may not share your assumptions about which zone that is.
Anything you plan against United States hours needs re-checking after each mainland clock change. Tropical daylight is fairly even through the year, so evening light does not stretch the way it does at higher latitudes.
