Civil projections for 2027, including the Umm al-Qura calendar used in Saudi Arabia, cluster around a start on 8 February and an end on 8 March, with Eid al-Fitr on 9 March. Those figures wait on the moon. Treat them as expected civil dates, not as a sealed decree. Local moonsighting can still move the end by a day. A month that walks through the seasons

The Islamic year is shorter than the Gregorian year, so Ramadan walks backward through the seasons. Over roughly three decades it will have sat in winter, then autumn, then summer, then spring, then winter again. A Ramadan in high summer means long daylight in northern latitudes. A Ramadan in winter means a shorter daily fast in those same places. The month’s length in days stays 29 or 30. The hours of each fast follow the sun.

In 2027 the expected month sits in February and early March: late winter in the northern hemisphere and late summer in the southern. That is a season fact, not a ruling. People in both hemispheres still end the month at their own sunset on the last day.

The last ten nights are inside Ramadan, not after it. They end when the month ends. Laylat al-Qadr is sought on those nights, especially the odd-numbered ones. It is not a second end date. The end remains the sunset that closes the last day.

If you are counting how many days of Ramadan remain, count toward the announced last day, then stop at sunset. If no last day has been announced yet because the month is only on day 25, you can say “four or five evenings,” not a fake exactness. The extra possible day is the whole point of a 29-or-30 month.

Ramadan can fall in any season. The fast does not change because the month changed its name. It changes because sunrise and sunset did.
