What is ninety days from today is the same kind of count with a shorter span. From Thursday 3 September 2026, ninety days later is Wednesday 2 December 2026. One hundred days later is ten days after that, on 12 December. Ninety is not a rounded hundred. If a form, a course, or a warranty says 90 days, writing 100 is a different deadline.

Both counts exclude today as a completed step. Today is the starting square. Day 1 is tomorrow. Day 90 is the ninetieth midnight from this morning. If you include today as day 1, you land a day early and then argue with the paperwork. The inclusive list of dates from today through the target is one larger than the elapsed-day count: 91 dates on the wall for a 90-day wait, 101 dates for a 100-day wait.

From 3 September 2026 the reverse counts are just as plain. Ninety days ago is 5 June 2026. One hundred days ago is 26 May 2026. “Today 100 days” in a search bar is ambiguous until you say whether you mean forward or back. Forward from this September morning lands in December. Back lands in May.

Write today’s date, including the year. Add 90 or 100 calendar days, not working days, unless the rule said working days. Cross month ends with the real month lengths: 30 in September, 31 in October, 30 in November.

Name the weekday of the landing date as a check. 100 days from Thursday is a Saturday, because 100 = 14 weeks + 2 days. Fourteen weeks is 98 days. A 100-day span is fourteen weeks and two extra weekdays. A 90-day span is twelve weeks and six extra weekdays (12 × 7 = 84; 90 − 84 = 6). That is why 100 days from a Thursday is a Saturday, and 90 days from a Thursday is a Wednesday. If your landing weekday disagrees, the month length was handled wrong.

Months are the wrong shortcut

Three months is not 90 days, and it is not 100. September plus October plus November is 30 + 31 + 30 = 91 days, which is already next to 90 and still not 100. Adding December’s first twelve days to that September-start stretch is how 3 September reaches 12 December in 100 days. “About three months” is a gesture. 12 December is a date.

A quarter of a 365-day year is not a whole number of days you should pretend is 100. 365 ÷ 4 = 91 days with a remainder of 1. Leap years make the year 366 and the remainder 2. Neither remainder turns a quarter into 100. If you needed a quarter, count 91 or 92 days and say so. If you needed 100, count 100.

A hundred days from today will not arrive on the same weekday as today. Two leftover days after fourteen weeks see to that. Mark the date, not the habit of “same day of the week.”

Workdays, time zones, and the hundredth morning

One hundred working days is a longer wait than 100 calendar days, because weekends (and public holidays, if the rule counts them out) are skipped. Do not answer a calendar-100 question with a business-day calendar unless the sentence said “working.” The search “today 100 days” does not say working.

The date changes at midnight in a place. If you cross a time zone near that midnight, one traveller’s 100th day can still be another traveller’s 99th. For a deadline on a form, the zone named on the form wins. For a personal mark, pick one local calendar and stay on it.
