Ramadan month duas
Ramadan month duas are the supplications Muslims make through the ninth Islamic month, especially at iftar and in the last ten nights. No single formula is the whole month.
How it works
A dua is a request to God, in Arabic or in any language the person prays in. Ramadan does not invent dua. It densifies it: hungry days, night prayers, Quran recitation, and a tradition that the last ten nights include Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree, sought especially on the odd nights. Those days number twenty-nine or thirty. The duas ride them. They are not a separate civic holiday named “dua.”
Ramadan 2026 already closed in February and March. On 3 September 2026 you are not in that month. The next Ramadan is 2027. A dua you make in September is still a dua. It is not a “Ramadan month dua” until the ninth month returns. People search the phrase in September because they are preparing, converting a note, or remembering last spring. The timetable is still lunar.
Nothing on this page replaces a teacher, an imam, or the text of the Quran and the reported prayers. Formulas circulate. Wording varies. A widely used iftar dua begins Allahumma inni laka sumtu… — “O God, I fasted for You…” — and then mentions trust and breaking the fast on God’s provision. Other authentic wordings exist. None of them is a ticket you punch instead of the fast.
When in the month people actually ask
At suhoor, people ask for help to finish the day. At iftar, they give thanks and break the fast. Between maghrib and dawn, especially in taraweeh and in the last ten nights, they ask for forgiveness, mercy, and whatever they need that is lawful. Quran 2:186 is the verse people reach for here: God is near and answers the caller. That verse is not limited to Ramadan. Ramadan is when many people finally use it at length.
Any lawful dua, in any language, at any hour of the month. A short iftar dua when the sun sets, then food, then prayer, in the order you were taught. Quran recitation as worship; verses of asking are still dua.
The last ten nights, with extra attention to the odd ones, for Laylat al-Qadr. After the month, Eid; the duas of Ramadan do not block the Eid prayer. A dua is a request, not a receipt. Saying the words without meaning them is just recitation practice.
What a dua is not
It is not a substitute for the fast. It is not a substitute for zakat or zakat al-fitr. It is not a spell that forces a civil date to move. It is not required to be in rhyming English, and it is not forbidden in English. Arabic has a special place because it is the language of the Quran and of many reported prayers. A person who does not speak Arabic is not locked out of asking.
A “dua for Ramadan” search often wants one block of text to copy. You can copy a known iftar formula. You can copy the short asking for Laylat al-Qadr that many people use in the last ten nights. You should still know what the words mean. A paste without meaning is noise. A quiet ask in your own language at maghrib is a dua. The month prefers the second more than a decorative graphic.
If you are not Muslim and you only wanted a holiday caption, this is worship, not décor. If you are Muslim and you only wanted the iftar line, take a wording from someone you trust, learn what it says, and eat when the sun is actually down.
