Psl dates
PSL dates are the calendar days a pumpkin spice latte returns to a seasonal coffee menu. Starbucks set Tuesday 25 August 2026 for that year’s U.S. fall launch. The drink is not sold all year.
How it works
A PSL date is a start stamp, not a solstice. Starbucks announces a day in late August when the Pumpkin Spice Latte and the rest of that fall lineup reach coffeehouses. In 2026 that day is 25 August. In 2025 it was 26 August. In 2024 it was 22 August. The announcement is the count you can use. The autumn equinox is a different event and is not the launch.
From Thursday 3 September 2026, 25 August 2026 is nine days in the past. The next launch is not a date until the company names it. Counting “days until PSL” after the menu is already up is a countdown to nothing, or a countdown to next year once next year is published.
The end of PSL season is not a second published national date in the same way. Seasonal menus run while the company keeps them, often described as limited time. Do not invent a last day. If a store is out, that store is out. If the app still lists the drink, that is a better check than a rumour that “PSL ends after Halloween.”
How to count to a PSL date
Use the published launch day, with the year. Count calendar days from today to that day, or from that day to today if it has passed. Treat the launch as a civil date in the store’s local time, not as a global midnight.
Do not substitute 1 September, Labor Day, or the equinox unless that is the date you were actually given. Starbucks has said the Pumpkin Spice Latte is meant as a seasonal drink, not a permanent year-round item. That is why the date matters. A permanent menu item does not need a launch square.
Late August is not autumn on an almanac. It is autumn on the drinks board the day they say it is.
Other PSL dates, and why they are not this count
Paid sick leave also shortens to PSL in workplace talk. Those dates are accrual periods, waiting periods, and use-by rules in a statute or a handbook. They are not a latte. If your search was “PSL dates” after a human-resources email, read the leave policy. A coffee launch will not accrue hours.
Pakistan Super League also uses the letters PSL. That is a cricket tournament whose fixture list changes by season. Those dates are match days. They are not 25 August 2026 unless a fixture happens to fall there.
If you needed the coffee, the useful stamp for 2026 is 25 August. If you needed leave or cricket, you needed a different calendar with the same initials.
