November calendar

How it works

A month calendar is seven columns, one for each weekday, and as many rows as the month needs. Empty cells before the 1st and after the last date belong to the neighboring months. They are padding, not extra November days. Reading across a row is one week in the weekday scheme the grid uses, Sunday-first or Monday-first.

Because November is 30 days, the month occupies four or five numbered rows depending on the starting weekday. The dates themselves do not change: 1 through 30, in order. What changes is which column the 1st sits in, and therefore which weekday the 11th, the 26th, and the 30th fall on.

Print a November page only after you have the year. Copying last year’s layout onto this year misplaces every weekday. If you need both a wall grid and a list of dates, generate them from the same year so the 1st cannot drift.

November 2026

In 2026, 1 November is a Sunday and 30 November is a Monday. The month therefore opens on the first column of a Sunday-first grid and closes on a Monday. The numbered Fridays are 6, 13, 20, and 27 November.

In the United States, Thanksgiving Day is the fourth Thursday of November. In 2026 that Thursday is 26 November. The following Friday is 27 November. Those two dates sit in the last full week of the month, with 30 November still ahead on Monday.

1 November 2026: Sunday. 11 November 2026: Wednesday. 26 November 2026: Thursday (fourth Thursday of the month). 30 November 2026: Monday. 11 November is Veterans Day in the United States and Remembrance Day in several other countries. It is a fixed calendar date, so its weekday rides with the year. In 2026 it falls on a Wednesday. Do not move the date to a nearby Monday unless a specific observance rule says the observed holiday shifts.

November has thirty days, which is just long enough for the first of the month to feel distant from the last.

Fixed dates and moving weekdays

Some November marks are glued to a number: the 1st, the 11th, the 30th. Others are glued to a weekday in a numbered week, such as the fourth Thursday. A grid makes both kinds visible at once. A list of dates without weekdays hides the second kind until you look them up.

Choose the year. Place 1 November on its weekday. Fill 2 through 30 in order. Circle rules that say “nth weekday” rather than a number. When you plan across the month boundary, October 2026 ends on Saturday 31 October, so November 2026 begins the next morning on Sunday. December then starts on Tuesday 1 December 2026, because 30 November is Monday. Those hand-offs are why a single isolated November page is easier to misread than a three-month strip.

If your week starts on Monday, shift the columns, not the dates. 1 November 2026 is still Sunday; it simply sits in the last column of a Monday-first row that otherwise belongs to late October. The facts of the month do not follow the printed header.
