The weekday shopper who comes after work on Thursday is playing a different clock than the Sunday sleeper who wanted the first hour.

The earlier Sunday close collides with people who treat afternoon as the start of the day. If the listing says 8:00 p.m., a 7:40 p.m. arrival is already a short visit. Fitting rooms and returns desks can wind down before the posted close. Aim at the middle of the Sunday window if the errand actually matters.

Sunday hours at Kohl’s are a shorter day pretending to be the same store. Believe the Sunday line, not the Friday one you memorized.

Holidays that sit on Sunday

When a holiday falls on Sunday, the store follows the holiday notice, not the ordinary Sunday line. Easter Sunday is one such collision. Christmas Day in 2026 is a Friday, so that close is a Friday close, not a Sunday one. Thanksgiving in 2026 is Thursday 26 November; many U.S. Kohl’s locations close for Thanksgiving and for Christmas, then post special hours around those dates. None of that rewrites a normal Sunday in March. Check the week you are actually traveling.

Online orders, pickup, and returns can use different cutoffs than the sales floor. A Sunday pickup window can end before the floor locks, or refuse Sunday altogether at that site. If the bag is the point, read the pickup line. If the fitting room is the point, the floor hours are the point.
