Italy days of the week are the same seven Gregorian names used in Italian: lunedì through domenica. A year still has 52 weeks plus one or two leftover dates.

Saturday in Italy is still sabato, a day of the week. Many offices rest. Many shops work. That split is local custom and opening hours, not a second calendar. Do not import a United States weekend onto an Italian street and call it a rule. Read the board on the door you will actually use.
Feriali, festivi, and the grid Italy prints
On Italian railway and bus legends, feriale often means Monday through Saturday, and festivo means Sundays and holidays. That is not the same cut as English “weekday” meaning Monday through Friday. If you copy a feriale timetable onto a Sunday morning, you will wait for a train that was never promised. If you copy it onto a Saturday, you may be right. Read the legend, not the English habit.
lunedì–venerdì: the ordinary office run in many workplaces. sabato: still a named day; shops and some services may run. domenica: Sunday; often the quieter civic day, not an extra weekday. feriale on many transport boards: frequently Monday–Saturday, not Monday–Friday.
festivo: Sunday and holiday service. Wall calendars in Italy commonly put Monday in the first column. ISO weeks do the same. Some imported grids still put Sunday first. Italy did not change the seven names when the column moved. Place lunedì in the Monday column, not in whichever cell is leftmost. Mixing a Sunday-first English sheet with a Monday-first Italian sheet is how a meeting lands on the wrong morning.
Living the seven days, not only naming them
A date in Italy is a civil square plus a weekday word. Shops, pharmacies on rotation, and public counters follow local hours on a given name, and those hours often shrink on domenica. A sign that says orario feriale is telling you the working-week service, and you still have to ask whether Saturday is inside that word for that door. The weekday is the label. The hours are the door.
Name the day in Italian if you are reading a local board. Check whether the legend uses feriale as Mon–Fri or Mon–Sat. Check holiday lists for that year; they sit on the weekday, they do not replace it.
Do not treat another town’s Sunday as this town’s Sunday. Italy did not invent a fifth weekday. It wrote the same seven days, then printed feriale on a timetable that may still include Saturday.
