A year is enormous in minutes and still over before the last calendar is taken down.
When a finer average appears
Astronomers and some technical calendars talk about a mean year that is not a whole number of days. The Gregorian reform was built so the average civil year stays close to the tropical year over long spans. That average is not what a diary uses in a single January-to-December. For ordinary planning, pick 525,600 or 527,040 and name the year.
Leap seconds, when they are inserted, adjust civil time against atomic time. They do not add a minute to the calendar year in the sense this question asks. If you are writing software that must track UTC down to the second, use a time library. If you are converting a year into minutes for a schedule, the day-count method above is the one people can check by hand.
