How many days in feb is the only ordinary month-length question that has two honest answers. “Feb” is February. February is the only month allowed to grow, and it grows by one day at most. Asking it for 30 is how you meet March earlier than you planned.

Why the other months do not copy February

January, March, and the rest keep their lengths in leap years. The extra day is not sprinkled. It is parked at the end of February because that is where the civil calendar was built to take the correction. If you are counting a span that crosses from January into March, you must look at the year: 28 or 29 days in the middle, not “about four weeks,” which is already the common-year figure and a day short of the leap figure.

Four weeks are 28 days. That matches a common February exactly and a leap February almost. The leftover 29th is why “a month” and “four weeks” are unsafe synonyms in late winter. Use the date.
