H e b hours easter
H-E-B hours on Easter are a close for ordinary stores: grocery, curbside, and home delivery shut for the Sunday. Shop Saturday. Monday returns to regular hours.
How it works
H-E-B is a Texas grocery banner. On a normal day, many stores run a long morning-to-late-evening board, and the pharmacy, fuel, and Curbside desks keep their own rows. Easter is not a normal day. The company’s holiday board lists Easter as closed for stores, curbside, and home delivery. The day before Easter keeps regular hours. The day after Easter returns the floor to regular hours, with curbside and delivery often starting at 9:00 a.m. rather than at the store’s ordinary open. A location can still post an exception; the locator for that week is the only board that counts.
Sleep is why the close matters. Easter morning is already a dawn for people who go to sunrise services, hide eggs, or cook a ham. It is a terrible morning to discover that the store is dark. The useful clock is Saturday. Finish milk, bread, eggs, and the basket fillers while you still have a night ahead of you. Do not plan a 6:00 a.m. Easter grocery run. That alarm will buy you a locked door and a worse mood for the rest of the day.
Pharmacy desks follow the holiday too. A prescription that can wait until Monday should wait. A prescription that cannot wait belongs on the Friday or Saturday before. Fuel centers can follow a different listing than the grocery floor; that is a separate row, not a promise that the aisles are open.
Saturday is the last grocery night
The day before Easter is a regular grocery day, which means it is also a crowded grocery day. Go earlier than you think. A Saturday evening list at 8:00 p.m. after a long week is how people skip sleep and still miss an item. A Saturday morning list after a full night is how people finish and still have Sunday morning for rest. Neither store is open on Easter to rescue a forgotten glaze.
Curbside is not a loophole. If the holiday board says curbside is closed on Easter, the parking stall is closed too. Home delivery is not a loophole either. Place those orders on the day before, inside the cutoff the app actually shows, not inside the cutoff you remember from a weekday.
Read that store’s Easter week, including any posted exception. Finish the list on Saturday, in daylight if you can. Treat curbside and delivery as closed with the floor unless the locator says otherwise.
On Monday, note whether pickup starts later than the door. Easter breakfast does not restock itself. The ham you forgot on Saturday will not appear because you woke up pious and hungry.
Easter morning is for rest, not ham
A closed grocery is a gift to the people who work there and a constraint for everyone else. Use it as a sleep gift at home. You cannot “just run out.” You can cook what is already in the kitchen, or you can accept a simpler plate. Children who were going to hunt eggs at dawn do not also need to sit in a parking lot in front of a dark H-E-B. Put the candy and the eggs in the house on Saturday. Put the adults in bed at a decent hour Saturday night.
Ordinary H-E-B hours return after the Sunday. That is not an invitation to shop at 6:00 a.m. Monday because you are still in holiday panic. If curbside opens at 9:00 a.m. that Monday, the first pickup slot is 9:00, not the store’s weekday dawn. The week after Easter is a regular grocery week. The sleep you lost hunting a closed door on Sunday does not come back as extra hours on Monday.
