Enchant christmas

Enchant Christmas is a touring holiday attraction built around a large story-driven light maze, plus a market, ice, and seasonal shows. Cities and dates change each year; tickets are timed.

How it works

You buy a timed-entry ticket for a city that is hosting Enchant that season, then walk a maze of lighted sculptures that follows a short Christmas story. Early editions sent guests looking for Santa’s missing reindeer. Later years have used other plots with the same idea: the path is a narrative, not only a tunnel of bulbs. Around the maze sit the extras that make a night of it — a marketplace, food, photo spots, live entertainment, and often ice skating or a slide. The company markets the maze as the world’s largest Christmas light maze. Kevin Johnston’s team grew the show from a Vancouver start; it has since set up in stadiums, ballparks, and racetracks in Canada and the United States.

For 2026 the organiser listed runs from 20 November to 27 December in Arcadia in Southern California, Las Vegas, St. Petersburg, and at Nationals Park. Those windows can include dark days. Hours are evening-heavy. Always read the calendar for the site you will actually visit. A previous year in another city is not this year’s map.

What you are paying to walk through

The maze is the headline. It is outdoor, cold if the city is cold, and slow if the slot is crowded. Children treat it as a hunt. Adults treat it as a light walk with a plot. Either way you are on your feet. Strollers and wheelchairs need the accessible route the venue posted, not a guess from a social photo. Add-ons — skating, a Ferris wheel where one exists, parking, a merch bundle — are sold separately more often than they are thrown in. The Village is a market, not a mall: small makers, seasonal food, a place to stand still between glowing rooms.

Pick the city and the date on the official Enchant calendar, not on a screenshot from last December. Buy the timed ticket for the arrival window you can keep. Dress for standing outside. The sculptures are lights, not a roof.

Walk the maze first if that is why you came, before legs and patience run out in the market. Leave add-ons for a second loop only if the slot and the weather still have you. Santa photos, if offered, have their own queue. Live music is local to that stand. None of this is a church service and none of it is a theatrical “Christmas spectacular” with reserved seats and a kick line. It is a grounds event. You enter, you walk, you exit when the grounds close.

A maze made of lights is still a maze. If you chase every photo first, you will meet the same glowing reindeer twice and miss the story the path was built to tell.

Tickets, weather, and the night you actually get

Weekend evenings sell first. Midweek is often easier on the wallet and on the elbows. Prices move with day and hour; the public site is the list, not a blog’s memory of last year’s door. Children under a posted age may enter free — that age is on the ticket page, not on this paragraph. Groups book through the group form, not by hoping a dozen people can share one barcode.

Rain does not always cancel a light maze. Wind and ice can change skating. Check the venue’s own alert the afternoon you go. Drive times to a ballpark on a concert night are not the same as drive times to that ballpark in July. The Enchant Christmas you want is the one whose city, year, and entry time match the tickets in your mail.
