Christmas things can wait in a cupboard. Christmas Day will not wait in one. The Friday has no spare drawer. Pack a small kit if you are travelling that Friday: chargers, medicines, the dish you promised, the gifts that will not survive being sat on. Leave the unused craft pile at home. The day is not a test of how many objects you can carry. It is one named square with a meal in it.
