Christmas colors
Christmas colors are the palette of the December feast: red and green first, then gold, white, and often silver or blue. A free printable color sheet is a line drawing meant to be filled with that palette.
How it works
Nobody issued a statute that named the pair. Red and green became the default through plants people already brought indoors in winter — holly leaves and berries, evergreens that stay green when the deciduous trees are bare — and through later Christian readings of those plants. Gold sits in the story of the gifts brought to the child in the Gospel of Matthew. White is snow in a northern winter and, in church use, a colour of the Christmas season. Blue appears in some Advent cloth and in icy décor. You can keep a house in only white lights. You can keep it in red and gold with no green at all. The feast on 25 December does not fail.
