How it works

How it works is one weekend with four public days, each with its own poster. Bonnaroo is a camping music and arts festival at Great Stage Park in Manchester, about 60 miles southeast of Nashville. It has usually opened on a Thursday in June and run through Sunday since the early 2000s, with gaps for 2020 and a 2021 washout, and a 2025 stop after severe weather. The day grid is the document you actually use on the ground: who plays Thursday, who plays Friday, who plays Saturday, who plays Sunday.

A single “lineup” poster that dumps every name in one column is a sales image. A lineup by day is a schedule. Stages overlap. You cannot stand in two fields at once. The by-day list is how you see the collisions before you are in the dust arguing about which set to leave.

For 2026 the posted span was 11–14 June. Contemporary reports named Skrillex among Thursday’s headliners, The Strokes among Friday’s, Rüfüs Du Sol among Saturday’s, and Noah Kahan among Sunday’s. Other names filled those same dates. The live grid on the festival’s own channels is the authority if a later change happened. Do not treat a memory of 2024 or a cancelled 2025 Thursday as this year’s Saturday.

Find the year. Lineups do not carry over. Split the names by Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Mark clashes on the same evening, not “sometime on the weekend.” Add walk time between stages. A day list without geography is still a wish.

Check Wednesday only if your pass includes early arrival; it is not a fourth main poster in the usual sense.

Thursday is a weekday with a field attached

11 June 2026 was a Thursday. For people who work a Monday–Friday job, that is a weekday they had to take off, or a remote day they abandoned. Friday 12 June was still a weekday on the civil calendar and a full festival day on the farm. Saturday and Sunday are the weekend names. The music does not get quieter on Thursday because offices exist in other towns. The traffic into Manchester does get worse when Thursday and Friday collide with people leaving work.

Camping culture starts before the first headliner. Cars queue on Wednesday. That Wednesday is not “the lineup.” It is the logistics day. Mixing Wednesday arrival with Thursday’s poster is how you miss the first set while you are still in a lane on a state road. The by-day lineup assumes you are already inside the clock of that date.

A lineup by day is a truce with physics: four dates, many stages, one body. The poster that lists everyone at once is lying about time.

Sunday close, Monday work

Sunday 14 June 2026 was the last posted festival date. Monday 15 June was a workday for anyone who still had one. That hangover is part of a Thursday–Sunday design. A lineup that peaks Saturday and still asks for a Sunday headliner is asking you to spend the weekday recovery on the road. Plan the drive as a Monday problem if you have a Tuesday alarm. The set times will not include your shift.

Weather can erase a day. In 2025 the festival stopped after Thursday because of flooding. A by-day lineup is a plan, not a contract with the sky. If a day is cancelled, the names on that day’s grid do not automatically move to the next weekday. Read the organizer’s notice. Do not invent a makeup Friday from a Thursday poster.

Keep 2026 separate from other years. Headliners change. The farm does not move. Manchester, Tennessee, in June is still a four-day weekday-to-weekend machine, and the only list that matters while you walk is the one labelled with today’s name.
