what days of the week are best to book flights

The weekday you search, the weekday you fly, and the weekday you pay are three different clocks. None of them is a law. Airlines change prices, and a cheap-looking Tuesday fare can be gone by the afternoon. Anyone who names one magic booking day is selling a shortcut the calendar does not actually keep.

What you can count is the year around the trip. A common year gives you 365 dates to place a departure. A leap year gives you 366. If you are booking a “365 days book” — a trip a full year out — you are aiming at the same month and day next year, which may fall on a different weekday and may sit one day later if a leap day stands between the two dates.

Use the week as a planning grid, not as folklore: Weekday of travel: this is the day you must be at the airport. Weekday of search: this is only when you happened to look. Weekend versus midweek flights: demand often differs, but the difference is not a fixed discount you can bank on.

Stay length: a trip that includes a Saturday night is a different product from a two-day midweek hop, even on the same route. If you need a rule you can keep, pick the date you must travel, then compare actual fares on that route. Counting the days you have left in the year tells you whether you are booking next month or next season. It does not tell you that one named weekday will always win.

365 out of 365

Written as 365/365, the figure is a completeness claim: every day of a common year, not 364 and a skip. Work rotas, ticket validity, and “open all year” language use that fraction to mean there is no closed date in the count. It is not a second calendar and it is not 365 plus 365.

Two times 365 is 730, which is two common years, not a special year called “365 365.” If a leap day sits inside the span you care about, add one. The slash does not add it for you.

What day is today out of 365

That question asks for the ordinal date: 1 January is day 1, and the number climbs by one each midnight. In a common year the last day is 365. In a leap year the last day is 366, so the phrase “out of 365” is already slightly wrong after 28 February. 1 March is day 60 without a leap day and day 61 with one. If you need the number, count from 1 January and include today, then name the year's length honestly.

A remaining-day count is the mirror: length of the year minus today's ordinal, not counting today if you mean “full days left after this one.” Say which version you are using. The calendar will not guess.

A lucky weekday for clicking “buy” will not add a 366th day to a common year, and it will not freeze a fare that the airline can still change.
