What time is it in Jepara

Jepara is a town on the north coast of Central Java, facing the Java Sea, on the western side of the Muria peninsula. It does not keep a furniture-workshop hour or a regency hour. Official clocks follow Western Indonesian Time — Waktu Indonesia Barat — seven hours ahead of UTC. That is the stamp Jakarta, Semarang, and Yogyakarta keep. It is not Central Indonesian Time. That more easterly stamp, UTC+8, belongs further east, in places such as Bali and Makassar.

Computers usually file this offset as Asia/Jakarta. Selecting Jakarta in software for a Jepara meeting is selecting WIB, not relocating the appointment to the capital. Do not add a summer hour; Indonesia does not keep one.
