Ordu Province is in Turkey Time, usually shortened to TRT. This national zone has a fixed offset of UTC+3. Clocks in Ordu stay at that offset throughout summer and winter rather than changing for daylight saving time.

Altınordu is the administrative heart of the province. Ünye is a major centre on the western coast. Fatsa is another substantial coastal town. Perşembe serves a peninsula and surrounding shoreline. Gölköy and Mesudiye are notable inland district centres.

No watch adjustment is necessary between these places. However, winding roads and rapid elevation changes can make travel time less obvious than the distance alone suggests, especially when moving away from the coastal highway.

Sunrise beside the Black Sea

Ordu’s sunrise time varies continuously through the year. Longer summer daylight brings earlier mornings, while shorter winter daylight brings later ones. These shifts come from the seasonal solar cycle, not from any change to the province’s official clock.

An open section of coast may offer a broad horizon, but the direction of the shoreline and nearby headlands affects whether the rising Sun is visible over water or land. Inland, steep hills can keep valleys shaded after astronomical sunrise.

For fishing, walking or photography, look up the relevant district and date. Also check twilight if the important question is when outdoor light begins rather than when the Sun’s edge crosses the horizon. Cloud over the Black Sea can make the practical onset of daylight less distinct than the calculated time suggests.
