Current time in Antalya, Turkey
Antalya shares its time zone with the rest of Turkey. The applicable offset is +03:00 from UTC, without a spring advance or an autumn reversal. A clock set correctly for Antalya can remain unchanged through every season.
This fixed arrangement is helpful for travel along the Mediterranean coast. Flights, intercity buses, hotel check-ins, tours, and restaurant reservations are all stated in the same national time. Visitors should nevertheless check the changing offset at home if their own country alters its clocks.
The province stretches far beyond Antalya city. Long road journeys may connect busy resort districts, mountain corridors, farming areas, and quieter western communities, yet no time-zone boundary is crossed anywhere along the way. The sea may change colour by the hour, but Antalya’s UTC offset refuses to join in.
Coastal centres across Antalya Province
Antalya city is the province’s principal urban centre, but several other large or prominent settlements support tourism, agriculture, trade, and everyday regional services. Their locations along the coast mean that journey times can be considerable even though their clocks agree.
Key centres to recognise include: Antalya, the provincial capital and main metropolitan area Alanya, a major eastern coastal centre Manavgat, serving a populous district near Side Serik, east of Antalya city
Kumluca, an agricultural centre on the western side Kaş, Finike, Gazipaşa, and Kemer are also familiar destinations within the province. None has a separate local time. An event advertised for a particular hour in Alanya begins at that same civil time in Kaş, despite the distance between them.
Sunrise on the Mediterranean coast
Antalya’s sunrise time is not fixed. It changes each day as Earth moves through its yearly cycle, bringing longer daylight in one part of the year and shorter daylight in another. Exact values must therefore be matched to a calendar date.
The province extends broadly from east to west. Sunrise may consequently occur a little earlier in Alanya or Gazipaşa than in Kaş, even though every place displays the same time. Mountains can also delay the moment when direct sunlight becomes visible from a particular street or valley.
Published sunrise refers to the calculated crossing of the horizon, not necessarily the first instant sunlight reaches a beach, balcony, or settlement beneath high ground. Dawn begins earlier, during twilight, and conditions such as cloud can affect what an observer sees without changing the astronomical calculation.
Anyone planning a boat departure, photograph, hike, or outdoor breakfast around dawn should consult the date-specific time for the nearest town. Using Antalya city’s value as a rough guide is reasonable, but it is less precise for the province’s distant eastern and western ends.
Questions and answers
- Is Antalya in the same time zone as Istanbul?
- Yes. Both use Turkey Time, UTC+3.
- Do clocks change in Antalya during summer?
- No. The UTC+3 offset remains in effect throughout the year.
- Does Alanya have a different time from Antalya city?
- No. Their clocks match, although their sunrise times can differ slightly because they are at different longitudes.
