Gotland has no island-specific time zone. Its residents set their clocks with the rest of Sweden, moving between Central European Time and Central European Summer Time under the national daylight-saving system.

Ferries and flights therefore publish times in the same civil zone at both Gotland and their Swedish mainland terminals. International travellers should still confirm the active UTC offset and any clock rules at their destination.

When CET applies, Gotland is one hour ahead of UTC. Under CEST, it is two hours ahead. The seasonal adjustment is shared by Visby, smaller towns, rural communities, and the island of Fårö to the north.

Summer days are long and winter days are short, but Gotland lies south of the Arctic Circle and does not experience true midnight sun or polar night.
