Sunrise across the Outer Islands

Sunrise is not simultaneous across the entire region. Islands farther east see the Sun earlier by the clock than islands farther west. The difference comes from longitude, while seasonal changes in the Sun’s path also alter the exact time.

For a useful sunrise value, select the particular island rather than relying on a regional figure. A forecast for Desroches, for example, should not be treated as the precise result for Aldabra. Local terrain is generally less influential than location and horizon conditions, although clouds can determine when daylight becomes visible in practice.

Confirm the island or atoll. Use its local date, especially near midnight. Read the result in UTC+4. Check weather separately if visibility matters.
