The current local time is the same throughout Vojvodina. The region uses Serbia’s national civil-time rules, so Novi Sad, Subotica, Zrenjanin, Pančevo, Sombor, and smaller communities all keep one clock.

Standard time is Central European Time, abbreviated CET, with an offset of UTC+1. During the daylight-saving period, clocks use Central European Summer Time, or CEST, at UTC+2. Because the offset changes seasonally, checking the displayed local time is safer than relying on a fixed difference from UTC.

Vojvodina’s cities and regional time

Vojvodina is an autonomous province in northern Serbia rather than a separate country or time jurisdiction. Novi Sad is its administrative centre and largest city. Other major urban centres include Subotica, Zrenjanin, Pančevo, and Sombor.

There is no time-zone boundary between these cities. A train departure, appointment, broadcast, or business opening stated in local time means the same civil time anywhere in the province. Novi Sad is the principal urban and administrative centre.

Subotica lies in the north, near Serbia’s border with Hungary. Zrenjanin is an important centre in Banat. Pančevo is close to Belgrade and shares its local time exactly. Sombor serves the western part of the province.

Belgrade also follows CET and CEST, so domestic travellers do not adjust their watches when moving between the Serbian capital and Vojvodina.

Sunrise and daylight in Vojvodina

Sunrise varies with the date and the observer’s position. Summer mornings brighten earlier and the period of daylight lasts longer. Winter brings later sunrises and shorter days. The seasonal contrast is much more noticeable here than in tropical locations near the equator.
