Siaya’s principal urban centres

Siaya is the administrative headquarters and a major service centre. Bondo is one of the county’s dominant urban and commercial centres. Usenge is associated with fishing and lakeshore activity. Ugunja occupies a strategic position on the Kisumu–Busia road.

Yala serves the county’s northeastern area. Other recognised centres include Ukwala, Sega, Ndori and Luanda Kotieno. They share the county’s official time even though their positions around the region give them slightly different solar times.
