Current time in Kurdistan Province, Iran
The province’s official clock is set by Iran’s national time zone. It runs three hours and thirty minutes ahead of UTC. No time-zone boundary separates its cities, and no clock conversion is needed for travel elsewhere inside Iran.
Kurdistan Province should not be confused with the wider geographic and cultural region that extends beyond Iran. Places outside the Iranian border may follow other civil-time rules. Adding both the city and country to an appointment prevents that ambiguity.
Observed standard: Iran Standard Time Offset from UTC: UTC+3:30 Different clocks inside the province: no Country label for international scheduling: Iran Geography enjoys complicated borders; clocks prefer a clear country field.
Sanandaj and the province’s cities
Sanandaj is the capital and principal urban centre of Kurdistan Province. Other important cities include Saqqez, Marivan, Baneh, Qorveh, Bijar, and Kamyaran. Each follows exactly the same national civil time.
Baneh and Marivan lie toward the province’s west, while Bijar and Qorveh are farther east. Saqqez is in the northwestern part. Those positions create slight differences in solar timing, yet a meeting scheduled for a stated local hour begins simultaneously across the province.
Sanandaj is a sensible default for a general current-time display. It is not a universal substitute for city-specific sunrise data. Choose the actual municipality when planning a hike, road departure, photography session, or other activity tied to daylight.
Sunrise, longitude, and ridges
Locations farther east usually reach sunrise before locations farther west on the same date. The difference occurs within one official time zone, so it appears as a difference on otherwise matching clocks. Seasonal movement of the Sun changes the daily result as well.
Much of the province is mountainous. A computed sunrise describes an astronomical threshold, but a nearby ridge may hide the Sun afterward. Weather can reduce visibility too, although it does not change the calculated event.
Specify Sanandaj, Saqqez, Marivan, or the relevant locality. Use a calculation for the correct date. Read the value as local Iranian time. Treat first visible sunlight as dependent on terrain and weather.
Questions and answers
- Does Kurdistan Province have its own time zone?
- No. It uses Iran Standard Time.
- Are Baneh and Bijar clocks identical?
- Yes, though sunrise can occur at different clock times because they occupy different longitudes.
- Can clouds change the official sunrise time?
- No. Clouds affect visibility, while the calculated sunrise is based on date and position.
