The provincial clock follows the nationwide Iranian standard. There is no separate Shiraz zone and no time change when crossing from one county of Fars into another. Iran’s present arrangement keeps the UTC+3:30 offset through the year. This makes local scheduling stable, but it does not guarantee a constant difference from Europe, North America or any other region that moves its clocks seasonally.

Half-hour offsets deserve care in software and hand calculations. At 12:00 UTC, the corresponding Fars time is 15:30 on the same date; near the end of the UTC day, the conversion can roll into tomorrow locally. In Fars, the clock is uniform; the sun has declined to standardise its entrance.

Shiraz and other large cities

Shiraz is the capital, the best-known city and the usual default for province-level time displays. Fars also contains several other important urban centres spread over a broad area. Shiraz anchors the central part of the province.

Marvdasht lies north of Shiraz and serves a large surrounding area. Jahrom is a major city farther south. Fasa is an eastern urban centre. Kazerun is a significant city west of Shiraz. All five observe exactly the same official time. Selecting among them matters when checking daylight, travel distance or local weather, not when setting a watch.

Reading sunrise information correctly

A sunrise listing is tied to a date and coordinate. Fars extends across different longitudes, elevations and landscapes, so the value for Shiraz should not automatically be applied to Jahrom or Kazerun.

Eastern locations tend to record earlier solar events than western ones under a common clock. The amount of daylight also expands and contracts over the year. These changes occur without any adjustment to IRST.

Hills, buildings and atmospheric conditions influence the moment when sunlight is actually visible. Astronomical tables assume a defined horizon and account for the sun’s apparent position; they cannot describe every observer’s blocked view.

Label appointments with “Iran time” or UTC+3:30. Include the calendar date when participants are on different continents. Do not apply an extra seasonal hour to the Fars side. Look up sunrise for the nearest city and the intended day.

Transport providers and accommodation bookings normally present local time. Preserve that wording in personal notes, particularly for departures shortly after midnight, when an unnoticed date change has the greatest practical effect.
