Olomouc Region uses the same time as the whole Czech Republic. Central European Time is UTC+1, and Central European Summer Time is UTC+2. The latter applies when daylight saving is in effect. Travelling among Olomouc, Přerov, Prostějov, Šumperk, and Jeseník involves no time-zone changes. Railway departures, opening hours, school schedules, and public appointments all refer to one regional and national clock.

Olomouc is the principal city and the region’s central transport hub. Prostějov is a large urban centre southwest of Olomouc. Přerov is an important city southeast of the regional capital and a notable rail junction.

Šumperk serves as a major centre for northern parts of the region. Jeseník is smaller but important for communities in the far north. Although distance and terrain can make journeys between these places lengthy, their local times never differ. A single clock governs the region from its southern transport corridors to its northern valleys.

In open lowland country, an observer with a clear eastern view may see sunrise close to its calculated astronomical time. In the mountainous north, surrounding slopes can delay the first direct rays. That visible delay does not represent a time-zone difference.

Morning light arrives earlier during the long-day season and later during the short-day season. Daylight saving shifts the civil clock by an hour, so a sunrise schedule should always be read together with its date and time-zone label.

Choose Olomouc only when it reasonably represents the intended location. Use Přerov, Šumperk, Jeseník, or another nearby place for more local timing. Check twilight if the purpose is travel or outdoor visibility.

Account for terrain and weather when direct sunlight is important. Sunrise calculations are useful for planning, but they do not describe every lighting condition. A cloudy lowland morning can remain dim, while a high viewpoint may receive sunlight before a nearby settlement below.
