China Standard Time is the official civil time across Gansu. There is no seasonal daylight-saving adjustment, so clocks do not routinely jump forward or backward. Lanzhou, Jiayuguan, Tianshui, and the province’s other communities all use the same UTC+8 reference.

Gansu stretches across north-central China in a long, narrow form. This geography is important when interpreting daylight.
