Andorra la Vella uses the same civil time as every other parish in Andorra. Unlike Algeria and American Samoa, Andorra changes its clocks seasonally. Its standard offset is UTC+1, and its summer offset is UTC+2.

The Pyrenean terrain raises the local horizon, so sunlight may reach a valley location after the astronomical sunrise calculated for a flat, unobstructed horizon.

Both the Earth’s seasonal cycle and the daylight-saving change affect the clock reading associated with sunrise. Summer brings longer days and earlier solar dawn, while the spring clock advance shifts displayed times forward. Winter days are shorter, and surrounding slopes can make direct sunshine feel later still.
