Current time in Nimroz, Afghanistan
Nimroz uses Afghanistan Time, set at UTC+4:30. Zaranj, Chakhansur, Kang, Khash Rod, and the province’s other communities all follow this national time without a daylight-saving clock change. Converting from UTC requires adding four and a half hours. For example, the half-hour should be preserved when copying a flight notice, arranging a remote call, or setting a device manually. Selecting a generic UTC+4 zone would display the wrong local time.
Although Nimroz is in southwestern Afghanistan and borders other countries, it has no separate regional time standard. Domestic travel from Nimroz into another Afghan province requires no clock adjustment. An international border crossing may require one, depending on the destination’s rules.
The desert offers plenty of horizons, but it does not round Afghanistan’s time zone to a neat hour.
Year-round time in Nimroz
The UTC+4:30 offset applies in every season because Afghanistan does not use daylight saving time. Residents do not move their clocks forward or backward on a recurring annual schedule. A fixed Afghan offset does not guarantee a fixed difference from every foreign city. Countries that practice daylight saving can move an hour closer to or farther from Nimroz at different times of year. Date-specific conversion is therefore the safest choice for cross-border coordination.
Time zone name: Afghanistan Time Standard abbreviation: AFT Offset: four hours and thirty minutes ahead of UTC Daylight saving: not observed Time difference from Kabul: zero
Zaranj, provincial settlements, and sunrise
Zaranj is the capital of Nimroz and the most useful default location for a provincial clock or sunrise lookup. Other population centres and district seats include Chakhansur, Kang, Khash Rod, and Delaram. Official local time is uniform across all of them.
Sunrise is not a permanently fixed time. It shifts with the date and varies modestly according to position within the province. A broad, open view can make the astronomical event easier to observe, while dunes, buildings, dust, or nearby relief may alter the first moment at which the solar disc is visible.
For a journey beginning before daylight, check the date and the nearest settlement rather than using an undated provincial estimate. Zaranj is appropriate for the capital and nearby areas; Delaram or another locality may be better for a distant route. Civil dawn begins before sunrise and may provide usable light, but it should not be confused with sunrise itself.
Questions and answers
- Is Nimroz in the same time zone as eastern Afghanistan?
- Yes. Afghanistan has one national time zone, so Nimroz keeps the same official time as eastern provinces.
- Will a phone change time within Nimroz?
- It should not change because of an internal time-zone boundary. Network or device settings can still cause an incorrect display.
- What location is best for a general Nimroz sunrise time?
- Zaranj is the usual provincial reference. Use a nearer settlement for plans elsewhere in the province.
