Twenty pho hour

Twenty pho hour is almost always twenty-four hour: a full day on the clock, written through 24 hours, or a place that stays open all day.

Time By Online Alarm Clock

How it works

People type “pho” when they mean “four.” Twenty-four hour is the 24-hour clock, and it is also the label for a service that does not close overnight. The page you want is the one that either shows hours from 00 to 23, or tells you a kitchen, ward, or desk that runs through the night.

A twenty-four hour clock does not use AM and PM. After 12:00 comes 13:00, then 14:00, up to 23:59, then 00:00 of the next date. Midnight is written 00:00, not 24:00, on most civil displays, though some timetables print 24:00 for the end of a service day. Both mark the same midnight boundary; they disagree about which date label sits on that instant.

Twenty hour, without the four, would be 20:00, which is 8:00 PM. That is a time of day, not a 24-hour span. If your search was about a clock reading “twenty,” you want 20:00. If it was about a full-day format or an all-night shop, you want twenty-four. The extra “pho” is the giveaway that four was the missing word.

Twenty-four hour writing

Formats for the same day-long idea are few, and they collide with ordinary times if you drop the leading plus or the word “hour.” 24-hour clock: 00:00–23:59, sometimes with seconds. 24h, 24-hour, twenty-four hour: a duration of one full day, or a shop that stays open that long.

20:00 or 20.00: eight in the evening, not a 24-hour span. 24:00 on a timetable: the closing instant of that service date, at midnight. Hour-minute writing needs a separator. 2000 without a colon can be a year or a time. 20:00 is a time. 24h is a duration or a policy. Mixing them in one line without units is how a night-shift note turns into “be there at eight.” When you convert 20:00 to a 12-hour clock, subtract 12 from hours 13 through 23 and write PM. 20:00 minus 12 is 8:00 PM.

A converter between 12-hour and 24-hour forms does not change the instant. It changes the labels. 8:00 PM and 20:00 are the same civil time in the same zone. 8:00 AM is 08:00. The twenty-four hour form removes the AM/PM word; it does not add twenty-four hours to the appointment.

Shops that never close the night

Read whether “24 hour” is a clock format or an opening policy. If it is a shop, check that location’s hours for the day you will go; a brand name does not freeze the kitchen. If it is a clock, set the device to 24-hour display and confirm the date at 00:00.

If you needed 20:00, write 20:00 or 8:00 PM, not “24 hour.” If you needed a duration of one day, write 24 hours, not a clock stamp. If the pot is still on at 03:00, the place is using all twenty-four hours, whatever landed in the search box.

Pho shops are a common reason this garbled query exists: people look for a bowl at an hour when ordinary restaurants are shut, and they type the soup next to the hour. A twenty-four hour pho counter is still a local timetable. One branch can run all night and the next can close at 22:00. The format “24h” on a door is a claim about that door. The 24-hour clock on your phone is only a way of writing the time you arrived.

Questions and answers

What does “twenty pho hour” usually mean?
Twenty-four hour: either the 24-hour clock or a service that stays open all day. “Pho” here is almost always “four.”
Is 20:00 the same as a 24-hour span?
No. 20:00 is eight in the evening. A 24-hour span is a full day of duration, or an all-day opening policy.
How do I write 8 PM on a 24-hour clock?
20:00. Add 12 to PM hours from 1 through 11. 12:00 PM is 12:00; 12:00 AM is 00:00.

100 seconds equals one minute forty seconds, or 100 s, or PT1M40S. It is a short duration. It is not 1:00, and it is not a hundred on a digital clock.

13 hour cast

A 13 hour cast writes thirteen hours as a label in front of the word cast. Most people who type it want the actors in the film 13 Hours. The number is a duration, not a clock time.
