How it works

The Recreational Sports Facility is the campus rec building at 2301 Bancroft Way. RSF Berkeley hours live on the RecWell hours page, not in a group chat. RecWell currently prints a main table of Monday–Friday 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. A summer table is shorter on weeknights. The building is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Special event closures, including Caltopia dates, overwrite the grid. The page you open the day you go is the schedule.

How it works with work or class is the 7 a.m. open and the 11 p.m. weeknight close. That is a building meant to take people before a morning lecture and after a late lab. It is not a 10 a.m. boutique. Access is for Recreation & Wellbeing members; the desk will ask for proof. Courts, the weight room, and group exercise are not one clock. Racquet courts can be reservation-only. A class has its own start. The door time is only the envelope.

People type rsf hours and rsf berkeley hours for the same listing. Golden Bear Rec Center and Strawberry Canyon are other RecWell sites with other boards. Do not copy Bancroft Way onto a canyon pool. Do not copy a summer 8 p.m. weeknight onto a term that posts 11 p.m. The label on the page — summer versus the unmarked main table — is part of the hours.

After class, after a shift

A weekday job in downtown Berkeley or on campus can still reach a 11 p.m. close. That is the point of the long board: lift after work without pretending the building is a nightclub. It is also how a person who already worked eight hours adds another hour of load and then sleeps badly. The RSF will let you in at 10:20 p.m. Your 8 a.m. the next day will not thank you. Use the late edge when that is the only hour you have. Use a 7 a.m. session when the night is already spoken for.

Match the visit to the job you still have tomorrow: Morning before work: the 7 a.m. weekday open, if you slept. After work on a weeknight: the 11 p.m. close is the envelope, not a target. Saturday: treat 6 p.m. as a real lock; it is the short day on the main table.

Sunday night: the 11 p.m. close is back, which is useful and also how Monday starts tired. Customer service, membership sales, and passport acceptance inside the RSF follow the service desk, not the last treadmill. If the errand is a passport or a membership question, read that desk. If the errand is a court, read the reservation window. The atrium being lit is not a promise that every room is staffed.

Saturday is the short day

People who work Monday through Friday often save the long workout for Saturday and then meet a 6 p.m. door. That is the trap on this board. Sunday gives the late evening back. Saturday does not. If Saturday is your only free block, start it in the morning after sleep, not at 5:40 p.m. after errands. Summer Saturday is also 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the printed summer table; the weeknight is what summer cuts.

Holiday closes are full dark days, not short days. Christmas Eve is listed with Christmas Day. A December 24 evening lift is a question the hours page has already answered. Campus calendar events can close the building on dates that are not federal holidays. RecWell posted Caltopia closures on the same page as the grid. If you are a staff member coming off a shift on one of those dates, the membership card will not open a locked rec.

The weekday building stays up with the lab. Saturday clocks out like a shop. Do not save the long session for the short day. Heat and crowd rules can still change the weight room while the door is open. RecWell has used capacity tools and temperature cutoffs. Those are not hours, but they are why a 6 p.m. Saturday arrival can fail even before the 6 p.m. close. Go earlier, or go on a weeknight the table still covers.

100 seconds

100 seconds equals one minute forty seconds, or 100 s, or PT1M40S. It is a short duration. It is not 1:00, and it is not a hundred on a digital clock.

Hours and minutes

13 hour cast

A 13 hour cast writes thirteen hours as a label in front of the word cast. Most people who type it want the actors in the film 13 Hours. The number is a duration, not a clock time.
