Publix hours

Publix hours are set by each store, not by one national clock. Many locations post a long day from early morning into the evening, and holiday hours can be shorter or closed.

Time By Online Alarm Clock

How it works

A grocery clock is a sleep clock. If your store opens near 7 a.m., it is open while many people are still in the first hour after an alarm. If it stays open toward 10 p.m., it is open after a child’s bedtime and after a late shift. Publix does not run a single pair of times for every city. The locator for that store is the schedule. A nearby store can open earlier, close later, or match the common morning-to-evening window.

Pharmacies and liquor counters inside the same building often post shorter days than the grocery floor. You can buy milk at an hour when the pharmacy window is already dark. If your errand is a prescription, read the pharmacy line, not only the store line. Sleep plans should follow the counter you actually need.

Online orders and delivery have their own cutoffs. A store that is still open for walk-in shopping may have already stopped picking for the night. The door time and the app time are two clocks. Check both if you are trying to finish a list before you go to bed.

Morning grocery versus night grocery

Early hours suit people who wake with the first alarm and want the store while it is quiet. Late hours suit people who cook after work or who run out of something after dinner. Neither is a moral schedule. The practical rule is to match the trip to the sleep you still need. A 9:30 p.m. shop on a work night steals from the same night’s sleep; a 7:15 a.m. shop steals from the same morning’s slow start. Pick the theft you can afford.

If you are shopping with children, the evening close is a harder edge than the morning open. A store that shuts at 10 p.m. does not care that bedtime was supposed to be 8. Build the list earlier in the day when the sleep schedule is already tight. If you live alone and keep late hours, the evening window is the one that fits, as long as that location actually posts it.

Read the store’s own open and close times, not a remembered chain-wide pair. Read pharmacy hours separately if the errand is a prescription. Treat app cutoffs as a third clock, not as the door time. On a work night, a late grocery run costs sleep; move the list earlier when you can.

A grocery that is open before your first alarm is a different store from one that is still open after your last good hour for sleep.

Publix holiday hours

Publix holiday hours are the exception, not the daily pattern. The company closes stores on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day so that staff are not on the floor those three days. That is a full close, not a short day. Plan milk, bread, and prescriptions before those dates. The day after a close returns to the store’s ordinary hours unless that store posts something else.

Christmas Eve and similar evenings often run shorter than a normal night. The exact close is posted by location and can change year to year. Do not assume a 10 p.m. close on December 24. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day can also be adjusted. Federal holidays such as Independence Day, Labor Day, and Memorial Day usually keep the doors open, sometimes with a shorter pharmacy day. The grocery floor and the pharmacy can disagree on a holiday even when both are in the same building.

Holiday sleep is its own problem. A closed Thanksgiving means you cannot fix a missing ingredient at 8 p.m. A short Christmas Eve means the last hour you thought you had is gone. Put the holiday list on a weekday before the close, in daylight, when you are not already tired from travel. The seasonal calendar here is food, not a parade: three closed days, some early closes, and ordinary hours the rest of the year unless your store says otherwise.

Questions and answers

What time does Publix open and close?
It depends on the store. Many locations use a long morning-to-evening day, often in the 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. range, but you must read that store’s listing.
Is Publix open on holidays?
Stores are closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Other holidays are often open, sometimes with shorter hours. Check the location for Christmas Eve and New Year dates.
Do pharmacy hours match the grocery hours?
Often they do not. The pharmacy can close earlier, and it can be closed on a holiday when the grocery floor is open. Use the pharmacy line for prescriptions.

100 seconds

100 seconds equals one minute forty seconds, or 100 s, or PT1M40S. It is a short duration. It is not 1:00, and it is not a hundred on a digital clock.

Hours and minutes

13 hour cast

A 13 hour cast writes thirteen hours as a label in front of the word cast. Most people who type it want the actors in the film 13 Hours. The number is a duration, not a clock time.
