Penndot hours

PennDOT hours depend on the office. Driver License Centers are generally open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. Phone staff run Monday through Friday. Confirm the location before you leave work.

How it works

PennDOT is the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. People usually mean Driver and Vehicle Services: a Driver License Center, a Photo License Center, or the phone line. Those are not one clock. The state’s own FAQ says office hours vary by location and day. Customer service representatives are available by phone 8 a.m. through 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Driver License Centers are open Tuesday through Saturday, with hours generally from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Messenger services set their own extended hours.

The work problem is the closed Monday. A job that only frees you on Monday will not match a license center. Saturday is the day the center is open while many offices are not. Sunday is closed. Taking vacation on Monday to “deal with the DMV” is the wrong weekday for this agency’s driver centers.

Skills tests can require an appointment. Many other counter services are walk-in. PennDOT does not publish individual center phone numbers; the call center is the phone path. The locator on the state’s site is the hours path. A remembered board from another county is not a door.

Closed Monday, open Saturday

That pair is the schedule you plan a job around. If you work Monday through Friday, Saturday morning is the slot that does not cost a shift, as long as you arrive inside 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and can wait. Saturday is also busy because everyone else had the same idea. Midweek — Wednesday or Thursday, after the open Tuesday — can be the quieter work-hour visit if your job can spare a late morning.

The 4:15 p.m. close is a government close, not a retail evening. Leaving work at 5 p.m. on a Tuesday does not catch this counter. You need an earlier weekday window or the Saturday. Phone questions can be asked Monday, when the building is dark but the call center is on.

Driver License Centers: generally Tuesday–Saturday, about 8:30 a.m.–4:15 p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday. Phone: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Photo centers follow their own listing; do not assume Monday.

Online vehicle tools, where offered, do not use the lobby clock. Taking Monday off to visit a PennDOT center is how you discover that the center took Monday off too.

What you can finish without using a workday

Some renewals and transactions can be done online or by mail. Those paths exist so you are not standing in a Tuesday line for a task the website already accepts. If the task needs a photo, a knowledge test, or a skills test, you still need the center, and you still need a day it is open. Mail to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Harrisburg follows postal time, not lobby time.

State holidays close counters even when the weekday would otherwise be Tuesday through Saturday. Do not copy a grocery’s holiday board onto PennDOT. Read the center’s notice for that week. A Monday holiday stacked on an already closed Monday changes nothing. A Saturday holiday would.

If you work nights, the 8:30 a.m. open is reachable after a night shift only if you can stay awake. The center will not open at 10 p.m. for you. Saturday remains the civil day off that matches the door.

100 seconds

100 seconds equals one minute forty seconds, or 100 s, or PT1M40S. It is a short duration. It is not 1:00, and it is not a hundred on a digital clock.

Hours and minutes

13 hour cast

A 13 hour cast writes thirteen hours as a label in front of the word cast. Most people who type it want the actors in the film 13 Hours. The number is a duration, not a clock time.
