Friday and Saturday often run later into the evening. Sunday commonly opens later and ends in the late afternoon, often 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Those rows move. Sleep is why a mall clock feels different from a grocery clock. A 10:00 a.m. open is not dawn. A 6:00 p.m. Sunday close is an early night. If you planned a slow morning, you still have time before the doors. If you planned a late Sunday browse, you do not. Children in a stroller at 5:40 p.m. on Sunday are already near bedtime, and the concourse is already near its end. Match the trip to the rest of the household, not to a memory of 10:00 p.m. malls from another decade.

A work-night mall trip that ends at 7:50 p.m. still has to leave time for the drive and the bedtime. A Saturday 9:00 p.m. close, when posted, is a later night and a later crash. Choose the day that fits the sleep you still need. The parking garage will be there tomorrow. The child who skipped a nap to walk every wing will not be easier at 9:30 p.m. because you found one more store that was still lit.
