How it works

This is a lunch-and-dinner clock, not a breakfast clock. The kitchen is dark at 7:00 a.m. It is still dark at 9:00 a.m. If your alarm is set for a dawn meal, this chain is the wrong hours, not a little early for the same hours. Lunch service is listed from 11:00 a.m. Dinner service is listed from 3:00 p.m. The dining room then runs to the evening close. Region and restaurant can shorten or stretch the last seating. LongHorn does not take reservations. Call-ahead waiting is the tool they name instead. A wait list that stops before the posted close is another clock: you can be too late to join a line even when the door is still technically open. To-go and online ordering, where offered, often stop a little before the dining room. Read those lines if you are trying to eat and then sleep, not linger.

Friday and Saturday add an hour at the typical close, 11:00 p.m. instead of 10:00 p.m. That extra hour is weekend time, not a work-night gift. Sunday returns to the 10:00 p.m. close. Planning a late steak on Sunday as if it were Saturday is how you meet a locked door with a hungry car.

Lunch, dinner, and the hour you still need

An 11:00 a.m. lunch is late morning. It fits a day that already started. It does not fit a plan to eat and go back to bed unless your sleep sits in the afternoon. A 9:30 p.m. dinner on a weeknight is an evening meal that still leaves a little night, or it is the meal that pushes sleep past the hour you needed. The steak will be there at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow. If you are already short on rest, that is the cheaper clock.

Families with children should treat the last seating as earlier than the printed close. A 10:00 p.m. lock is not a 9:00 p.m. kitchen still taking a four-top. If bedtime is 8:00, this restaurant’s evening is the wrong tool. Lunch is the meal that keeps the night intact. Weekend 11:00 p.m. hours are for adults who already chose a late night, not for a school-night experiment.

Look up that restaurant; closing hours may vary by region. Treat 11:00 a.m. as the first meal, not dawn breakfast. Treat Sunday–Thursday 10:00 p.m. as the work-week close, Friday–Saturday 11:00 p.m. as the later pair.

Use call-ahead waiting rather than a reservation you will not get. A ribeye at 10:50 p.m. is not dinner. It is tomorrow morning’s grogginess with extra protein.

Closed days and the early Christmas Eve

LongHorn’s published holiday pattern is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and closed at 8:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Other holidays are described as ordinary hours unless that restaurant posts a change. A closed kitchen on Thanksgiving is a sleep gift for the staff and a planning problem for you: the missing side dish will not be rescued at 7:00 p.m. Move that errand to Wednesday, in daylight.

Christmas Eve’s 8:00 p.m. close is two hours earlier than a normal Sunday–Thursday night. If you wanted a late meal after a long drive, you have already missed it by thinking of the usual 10:00. Eat earlier, or cook. The night you keep after an 8:00 p.m. meal is the actual holiday present, not a second dessert at 9:45 in a parking lot.
