Dollarama store hours
Dollarama hours are local to each Canadian shop. Many locations close on Christmas Day; Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day follow that store’s listing, not a single national clock.
How it works
Dollarama is a Canadian dollar-store chain. Each branch posts its own open and close times. A weekday in a plaza is not the same clock as a Sunday in a mall, and a mall can lock the corridor even if the chain would otherwise stay later. The official way to read a door is the store locator on dollarama.com, or the hours on the door, or a call to that location. A chart copied from another city is a rumour.
Ordinary weeks often run long on weekdays and shorter on Sunday, but that is a pattern, not a promise. Some shops open at 9:00 and close at 21:00 on weekdays. Others sit inside a centre that closes earlier. Do not leave home on the strength of a neighbour’s memory of a different address.
December is the company’s busiest sales month in the year, which is why the aisles fill with wrapping, lights, toys, and baking goods then. Busy is not the same as “open on the 25th.” Staffing a peak season and closing for Christmas Day can both be true.
Christmas week, store by store
Christmas Day is 25 December. In 2026 that date is a Friday. Across recent seasons, Dollarama locations have generally been listed as closed on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is usually an open shopping day, sometimes with a shorter evening. Boxing Day, 26 December, is a major Canadian shopping date; many Dollarama shops are listed open that day. New Year’s Day depends on the province and on that store. None of those sentences replaces the locator for the shop you will actually walk to.
Provincial rules differ. A Sunday-closing custom in one place is an ordinary Sunday in another. A holiday that is a statutory closing in one province may be a regular retail day in another. Dollarama does not erase those rules with a single slogan. If you are travelling between provinces in late December, look up the destination store, not the one at home.
Use the locator for the exact address. Treat Christmas Day as closed until that listing says otherwise. Read Christmas Eve and Boxing Day as separate lines, not as “the holidays.” Mall hours can cut a shop short even when the chain’s own clock is longer.
A 2025 note is not automatically the 2026 notice. A dollar store that is closed on the 25th is not being ironic. It is being a door, and doors have hours.
How to check without guessing
Open the locator, type the city or the postal code, pick the pin, and read the hours for the date you mean. If the page offers a holiday line, believe that line over a screenshot from last year. If the page is silent and the trip matters, telephone. A dark shop on the 25th is an answer. Standing in the snow with a list is not a debate.
From Thursday 3 September 2026, Christmas Day is 113 days away. That countdown is for the calendar. It does not unlock a door. If you need wrapping paper, lights, or a baking tin, a Saturday in November is a calmer errand than a Christmas Eve queue — but only if that Saturday’s hours, on that shop’s listing, are actually open.
Gift cards, recalls, and product questions are other pages on the company’s site. This page is the clock. Match the errand to an open hour, then go. If the 25th is closed, move the errand to the 24th or the 26th and check those two dates as if they were strangers to each other, because they are.
Questions and answers
- Is Dollarama open on Christmas Day?
- Locations are generally closed on 25 December. Confirm the shop you mean on the locator for that year.
- Are hours the same at every store?
- No. Each location sets times, and mall shops can close with the mall.
- When should I check Boxing Day?
- On the same listing, as its own date. Many shops open on 26 December, but the hours are still local.

100 seconds
100 seconds equals one minute forty seconds, or 100 s, or PT1M40S. It is a short duration. It is not 1:00, and it is not a hundred on a digital clock.
120 minutes in hour
120 minutes is 2 hours, because one hour holds 60 minutes. Write it as 2:00 or as two hours; it is not 120 hours.
13 hour cast
A 13 hour cast writes thirteen hours as a label in front of the word cast. Most people who type it want the actors in the film 13 Hours. The number is a duration, not a clock time.
