Dds hours

Georgia DDS hours are set per customer service center, not as one statewide night window. Offices close; online licensing stays up around the clock.

Time By Online Alarm Clock

How it works

How it works is a map, then a door. The Georgia Department of Driver Services runs customer service centers across the state. Each center posts its own days and hours. DDS says so on its hours-and-locations page: look up that center, do not copy a neighbour’s board. A Saturday morning in Atlanta is not a Saturday morning at the administrative offices in Conyers.

The administrative offices at 2206 East View Parkway, Conyers, list Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, closed Saturday and Sunday. That is a daytime civil-service clock. It is not a promise that a license counter in another city matches 8:00–5:00. The Atlanta center at 400 Whitehall Street SW lists Tuesday–Friday 7:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. Those two boards already disagree. Yours may disagree with both.

Plan the visit against the board you actually need: Open the DDS locator for that customer service center. Read days first. Some centers skip Monday. Many skip Sunday. Read the open and close times, in Eastern Time.

Check the closures list for holidays and temporary shutdowns. If the errand is a road test, DDS has said appointments are required for road tests only; other counter work still follows that day’s hours.

Online services at DDS are a different clock. The department has said online licensing is available 24 hours a day. Address changes, many renewals, and similar tasks that the site allows can be done after the building is dark. A road test cannot. A knowledge exam at a center cannot. Match the task to the clock that can actually do it.

Night, sleep, and a closed counter

DDS counters are not a 24-hour window. Sleeping through the night and arriving at open is the normal pattern. A 7:30 a.m. Atlanta open is an early morning, not a dawn emergency room: you still have to wake, drive, and stand in a daytime line. If you must be there at 7:30, the night before has a hard stop. Treat that bedtime as part of the errand.

Do not drive to a center at 21:00 because you are awake. The door will be locked. Do the online task at 21:00 if the site offers it, then sleep. DDS has also said the middle of the week during the middle of the day is the better in-person window, and that Tuesday is the busiest day statewide. Those are the department’s own notes, not a traffic study invented here. If you can choose, do not pick Tuesday plus no sleep.

The license office will not open because you are awake. The website will. Call center hours are not the same as a counter. The number DDS prints is (678) 413-8400. A recorded closure can sit on that line while a particular building is shut for maintenance. Read the closures page the morning you go. A good night’s sleep does not help if the building is dark for a holiday you did not check.

What the hours do not cover

REAL ID document lists, fees, and eight-year renewal terms are separate rules. Hours only tell you when a human or a website will take the work. Bring the documents the current DDS list names. An on-time arrival with the wrong papers is still a failed trip. The sleep you lost to make a 7:30 open is then just a short night.

Holiday weeks move. DDS posts named closures; they are not always the same three dates every private office uses. If a center is closed, online services may still run. If you need a same-day card from a counter, you need an open counter. If you can wait for mail after an online renewal, you can keep the night and skip the line.

Questions and answers

What are Georgia DDS hours?
They depend on the customer service center. Conyers administrative offices list 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday. Atlanta lists Tuesday–Friday 7:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Check your center.
Can I handle DDS business at night?
Online services are described as 24/7. Walk-in counters close. Road tests are not a midnight task.
When is a center least busy?
DDS says the better in-person window is midweek, midday, and that Tuesday is the busiest day statewide. Confirm closures before you go.

Hours and minutes

100 seconds

100 seconds equals one minute forty seconds, or 100 s, or PT1M40S. It is a short duration. It is not 1:00, and it is not a hundred on a digital clock.

Hours and minutes

13 hour cast

A 13 hour cast writes thirteen hours as a label in front of the word cast. Most people who type it want the actors in the film 13 Hours. The number is a duration, not a clock time.
