How it works

Chase is a bank, not a 24-hour counter. A branch lists its own lobby times, and often a different Saturday line, and often no Sunday lobby at all. One branch can open early for a business district. Another can follow a supermarket host’s clock. A third can be appointment-only. The locator row for that branch is the schedule. Copying a friend’s branch across town is how you arrive at a locked glass door.

Sleep sits on the other side of that glass. If you work nights, the lobby will usually be shut when you are free. That is not a broken listing. That is a bank following daytime staffed hours. Cash, deposits through an ATM, and most app tasks do not need the lobby. A notary, a safe-deposit box, and a lot of account-opening work still do. Match the task to the clock that can do it.

Drive-up windows, where they exist, can close at a different minute than the lobby. Read both lines. A holiday can close both even when Saturday would have been open.

Banker’s hours versus your night

A lobby that opens mid-morning and closes late afternoon is built for people who are awake in daylight. If your alarm is 5 a.m., you may still be too early for the door. If your alarm is noon, you may already be close to the last lobby hour. Neither sleep pattern moves the posted close.

Saturday, when a branch offers it, is the usual overflow for people who cannot leave a weekday job. It is still daytime. It is not a night window. Sunday is commonly a closed lobby. Overnight is the ATM and the phone, not a teller.

Holidays, payroll, and the morning you actually have

Federal Reserve holidays close most bank lobbies, including Chase branches that follow that calendar. Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and the other Reserve holidays are the dates to check before you plan a teller trip. The app does not take those days off in the same way. Direct deposits still follow the banking calendar: a payday that lands on a closed weekday can post on the surrounding business day according to the payment’s own rules. That is a payment calendar, not a branch-hour rumor.

If you need cash at 1 a.m., look for a working ATM, not a lobby. If you need a human, wait for the posted open and do not queue at dawn unless that branch actually lists a dawn open. A few in-store branches follow the host grocer; even then they rarely match a night-shift end.

Call the branch if the errand is a box, a wire, or a document that a night app cannot finish. The number on the locator is for that location. After close, you will get hours or a voicemail, not a teller. Plan the sleep around the errand, or the errand around the sleep, but do not expect the door to negotiate.
