The shop people mean by this search is Century 21 NYC at 22 Cortlandt Street, steps from the World Trade Center. The Gindi family opened the original downtown store in 1961. It became known for designer labels at a discount. The company closed its locations in 2020. The Cortlandt Street flagship reopened in 2023 under the Century 21 NYC name, on a smaller footprint than the old block-filling store.

That history is retail, not a feast. There is no “Century 21 Day” on a civil calendar. A holiday visit is still a visit to a shop: you need the date, the door hours for that date, and a way home with bags. The Financial District empties on some civic days and fills on others. Century 21 Real Estate is a brokerage franchise. Its offices follow their own appointment hours. Searching “Century 21 store” and arriving at a realty listing is a name collision, not a secret second flagship. If you wanted discounted coats, you wanted Cortlandt Street. If you wanted a house, you wanted a broker. Holidays affect those two businesses differently: a shop may run a sale; a brokerage may close for a civic day. Ask the office you actually booked.

A holiday sale is a clock on a door. It is not a national recess, even when the bags look festive. Tourists sometimes treat the store as a New York ritual on the same trip as a tree lighting or a parade. That is a travel plan. Put the shop hours on the same itinerary as the ceremony, and leave slack for security lines downtown. The ritual is yours. The lock on the door is theirs.
