Breakfast is a morning menu. While it is on, you can order breakfast sandwiches, sides, and drinks from that board. When the restaurant ends breakfast, that board comes off and the regular menu takes over. Burger King does not run breakfast all day, so a late morning visit can miss the breakfast items even if the dining room is open.

Franchise restaurants set their own opening times and kitchen cutoffs. A highway store, an airport counter, and a mall food court can all serve breakfast on different clocks. Some locations start when they open in the early morning. Others open later, so breakfast begins later too. A Burger King public statement has described the system average for the changeover to lunch as 10:30 a.m., which is a typical U.S. cutoff, not a promise for every address.

Weekends can differ from weekdays at the same building. A store that starts breakfast earlier on a workday may open later on Sunday. Holidays and local events can shift hours without changing the brand’s name on the sign. Treat yesterday’s visit as a hint, not a schedule.

How to check the hours before you go

Guessing a round time is how people arrive to hear that breakfast has ended. The reliable path is to read the hours for that restaurant on the day you will be there. Open the Burger King website or app and use the restaurant locator.

Select the exact store, not a nearby city name. Read breakfast hours if they are listed separately from dining hours. If the listing is unclear, call the store and ask when breakfast starts and when it stops today.

Leave a little time before the cutoff; a line at 10:28 a.m. can still miss the kitchen change. Delivery apps sometimes show a breakfast category only while that restaurant is still serving it. If the breakfast items have disappeared from the app, the window for that store is probably closed, even if burgers are still available. Drive-thru, dine-in, and delivery can also go out of sync if one channel is shut while another stays open.

What “breakfast hours” do and do not include

Breakfast hours are about the menu, not about whether the building is unlocked. A restaurant can be open after breakfast ends. It can also be closed in the early morning, which means there is no breakfast there at all that day. A 24-hour location may still run breakfast only in the morning; being open at midnight does not put the breakfast sandwich back on the board.

Start time: when that kitchen begins the breakfast menu. Stop time: when that kitchen switches to the regular menu. Store hours: when the restaurant takes any orders. Channel: dine-in, drive-thru, pickup, or delivery, which may not match.

Menu items vary by country and by restaurant. A Croissan’wich in one market is not a reason to expect the same plate in another. If you need a specific item, check that store’s menu in the app rather than assuming the photograph from a different city still applies.

Breakfast ends when that kitchen changes the board, not when you arrive with a breakfast order already decided. If you are traveling, do not carry home hours across a border. In some countries breakfast runs on a different morning window, or only at participating restaurants. The same brand name does not freeze the clock.
