How it works

Brea Mall is an enclosed shopping center in Brea, in north Orange County, along State Route 57 and Imperial Highway. The center publishes a regular board and a calendar of upcoming days. The concourse clock is not automatically every tenant’s clock. A department store, a restaurant, and a kiosk can open later or close earlier than the mall listing. If you needed a particular shop, read that shop as well as the center.

The regular hours Simon posts are: Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Those are the ordinary week. They are not a promise for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, or a one-off event. The hours page also lists the next few dates. On Monday 7 September 2026, which is Labor Day, the center listed 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the same as a regular Monday. That is that Monday’s notice. It is not a rule for every Monday holiday forever.

Mall walking is a different early clock. The center’s own about page says all entrances are open at 8:30 a.m. for mall walkers. Walking the concourse before shops unlock is not shopping. Doors for walkers and doors for tills are two jobs.

Feast dates and the board that actually counts

U.S. malls often close on Thanksgiving Day and on Christmas Day, and they often change Easter Sunday. Brea Mall’s regular board does not, by itself, tell you those dates. The document is the Simon hours listing for the date you will stand at the door. A third-party “holiday hours” page is a rumour until it matches that listing.

Black Friday, the Friday after Thanksgiving, is a shopping date, not a public holiday. Centers often open earlier that Friday. Again: the listing for that Friday is the fact. A memory of a 6 a.m. opening in another year is a memory. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve often shorten. Labor Day, as 7 September 2026 showed on this center’s upcoming list, can look like an ordinary Monday. Do not generalise one Monday to all Mondays.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and other feasts: read that date on simon.com, then read the tenant you need. Food-court kitchens and sit-down restaurants can outlast the mall close or shut before it. A late meal is not proof the clothing floors are still staffed. If you needed a return at a department store, that store’s desk hours are the ones that matter, and they can disagree with the fountain clock.

One address, several locks

The mailing address is 1065 Brea Mall, Brea, CA 92821. Nordstrom, Macy’s, and JCPenney are among the large tenants the center names. Large tenants sometimes keep their own holiday boards, including a closed Thanksgiving inside a concourse that still lets walkers through, or the reverse. Arrive for the tenant, not for the parking lot’s optimism.

The mall’s clock is not your tenant’s clock. Read both, or you will admire an open concourse through a shuttered glass door. Pacific Time is the local civil time. A visitor flying in from the East is not late because a phone still shows New York. Set the phone to the zone, then read today’s listing. The regular week above is the default. The feast is the exception. Only the listing for that date can tell you which one you are holding.
