Postal codes come from the free GeoNames dataset. Where a code is listed with a distance, it belongs to a nearby settlement — GeoNames spells that name differently from ours.
Paranaque City — Parañaque with the ñ in Filipino spelling — is a highly urbanised city on Manila Bay, in the southern part of Metro Manila; this site files the page under Calabarzon. It does not keep an airport hour, a bay hour, or a municipal stamp of its own. Official clocks follow Philippine Standard Time, eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time, the same numerals Manila, Quezon City, and Cebu already print. If a phone here and a phone in Manila disagree, one of them is set wrong.
Software usually files the national hour as Asia/Manila. That label is a library name for the country. It does not send a Paranaque meeting onto the Pasig, and it does not give this bay city a private extra. A form that offers Manila, “Philippines,” or PST in a Philippine menu is offering the same UTC+8. The Philippines does not currently spring forward.
The letters PST collide. In a mixed invite they can mean this Philippine hour or Pacific Standard Time on the American west coast. Write “09:00 Paranaque City (UTC+8)” rather than PST alone. Hong Kong and mainland China currently match this minute and still keep their own legal names. Do not convert through a memory of how Manila related to Los Angeles “last time you visited.” Los Angeles may have jumped onto Pacific Daylight Time. This city stays on UTC+8.
A jeepney or a flight out of the international airport that sits on this city’s map changes heat, traffic, and whether you are still on the ground. Philippine Standard Time comes along for the ride until you leave the country. Crossing into Pasay or Las Piñas is not a zone crossing. Crossing toward Guam or toward Palau would be a different job; those places keep other rules. Name Paranaque City, or name UTC+8, or name Asia/Manila. “Manila time” is accurate for the hour and still the wrong sunrise if you needed this bay shore rather than a ridge inland.
Set the device to Asia/Manila, not to a China zone that happens to show +8 today. Do not add a summer hour. Present Philippine civil time does not use it. Write UTC+8 or PHT, not PST alone, so Pacific Standard Time cannot steal the abbreviation.
Take sunrise and weather from this page, not from a generic Metro Manila memory and not from an Antipolo hill table. Philippine Standard Time is built on 120°E. This city sits a little east of that line, so solar noon can come slightly before 12:00 on the wall. That is ordinary Luzon timekeeping on a national offset, not a fast bay clock. Do not slide a meeting toward the disk over Manila Bay and call the result “Paranaque time.”
The airport can delay a departure. It cannot delay Philippine Standard Time. A queue is traffic. The stamp is still UTC+8.
Sunrise and sunset here are computed for Paranaque City’s coordinates on the chosen date. They are not a Calabarzon proclamation, and they are not a Manila harbour pair with the name filed off. Reclamation, haze, and the city’s own towers can hide the disk after the calculated rising. Calculated sunrise is geometry against an ideal horizon. First usable light is the window. Civil twilight starts before official sunrise. For a photograph facing the bay, use this city’s figures, not last week’s screenshot from a ridge in Rizal.
The city sits in the tropics, so the swing in day length through the year is milder than in Seoul or Madrid. Winter afternoons still shorten a little. Summer days still stretch a little. Those are latitude, not legislation. Copying a January dawn into a July plan is how people miss the light they wanted, even though the clock never jumped.
The year is wet and dry in the monsoon sense, with a storm season in the warmer months when tropical cyclones can still disrupt travel. Rain can flood a coastal road in minutes. It does not delay Philippine Standard Time. A dark noon under a rain band is still noon on UTC+8. The weather reading is the present sky and temperature for this city, not an Antipolo highland copy and not a Cebu paste. If a standing slot with California suddenly feels early, look at their change date, not at the runway.
