How Many Days Until Spring?
How Long Until Spring
Spring (or Springtime) is one of the four temperate seasons on Earth. Spring comes after Winter and before Summer, ushering a season of rejuvenation and growth for plant life. Though various technical definitions exist for Spring, the local usage of the word Spring relates to local climate, the cultures of people and even their customs. The way the world works, when it is spring in the Northern Hemisphere, it is Autumn down south in the Southern Hemisphere and vice versa.
Holidays
There are two main Holidays that happen during Spring and they are:May Day
May Day, which is the first day of the month of May, is the date for many public holidays. Most countries celebrate their Workers and all forms of Labour on that date, taking cognizance of milestones reached in social and economic spheres. As you would expect, May Day has ancient origins and it can relate to many customs that have trickled down to modern times. The reason this is so is because May Day is a cross-quarter day which means that it falls approximately halfway between the summer solstice and the spring equinox. In the Celtic tradition, this date marked the end of spring and the beginning of summer.
Easter
Easter is arguably the most important religious celebration in the Christian faith each year. During Easter, it is believed that Christ is resurrected from the dead, and Easter is a feast done in remembrance of this feat. Easter celebration comes two days after Good Friday, the day of the crucifixion. Easter celebrations happen between the 22nd day of March and the 25th day of April (in the Gregorian calendar, this date corresponds to 4th April and 6th). It is also noteworthy that in the Southern Hemisphere, Easter occurs during autumn and kids go on an Easter egg hunt.
Weather Features
If there is one word that is synonymous to Spring, it would be the word 'Change'. Yes, Spring is characterized by substantial change, from plant life to weather. In the spring, seeds take root and vegetation begin to grow, restoring colors that were before not there due to winter.
